One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (1975)

“One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” is a film adaptation based on the novel of the same name by Ken Kesey. It was highly successful, winning all five major Academy Awards: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Actor (Jack Nicholson), and Best Actress (Louise Fletcher).
The film’s story revolves around the struggle between the desire for freedom and the fears of patients in a mental health facility. McMurphy (played by Jack Nicholson) is a convict temporarily held at a prison farm who is later transferred to a mental health institution due to his abnormal psychological behavior.
McMurphy tries every means to defy the supervision of Nurse Ratched and seeks ways to achieve freedom. However, things are far from easy for McMurphy and his newfound friends.
